The Acadian Circus is proud to present our new Alice in Wonderland themed production coming to Refuge Aerial on August 3rd & 4th (2pm & 7pm Saturday, 2pm Sunday). Come along with us on a fantastical journey that will transport audiences into the enchanting realm of Lewis Carroll's classic tale!

AUDITION PROCESS: 

This year we are implementing an audition process that every performer will complete in order to participate in the show. For each character/apparatus you would like to audition for, you will be required to film a video, approx 1:30 in length to showcase your skills (if you audition for 3 apparatuses, please submit 3 separate 1:30 videos). You do not have to submit for a specific character if you do not have a preference. Please refer to the Casting Standards for a list of the expected skills for each discipline/apparatus.

We are seeking performers with exceptional circus skills and a flair for storytelling. Whether you're an aerialist who can mimic the grace of the White Rabbit or a contortionist who can embody the enigmatic Cheshire Cat, or a flow performer growing in the flower garden, we want to see your interpretation of Wonderland's characters and your ability to captivate an audience.

For each act, we would like no less than two performers on stage. We are looking for both stand alone ground/flow acts and aerial acts. Ground and air acts can be combined as long as all performers are in agreement and choreograph as a group. Ground acts could also be used during brief changeouts in addition to full acts.

CHARACTER INFO: 

Some roles will include brief acting segments in between acts to mask change outs so keep that in mind if you want to audition for a particular role. We are also open to having multiples of a character if you prefer not to have an acting part but want a particular character.

This is not a final description or list of the characters so feel free to take some creative liberties and make the characters your own. If there are other Wonderland or Looking Glass characters you would like to audition as, please feel free to expand on this list. 

If you are auditioning as a duo/multi discipline act, think about which characters go well together. Tweedle Dee and Dum; The March Hare and The Mad Hatter; The Queen of Hearts and Card Soldiers etc. 

We have also put together some Act/Character/Apparatus suggestions to help you along your audition process. Again, these are not final and we are open to other suggestions as well! Get creative with it!

This is the current rehearsal/show schedule. Please keep in mind you will need to be available for photoshoot, rehearsals, tech run and both show times to be considered. 

2/29/24: Audition videos are due

3/2/24: Production committee will review videos and making casting decisions

3/9/24: Cast Meeting 1PM at Refuge Aerial

3/24/24: Tentative Photoshoot Day 5PM; anyone willing to purchase their character costumes this early can wear those; you can borrow/use anything that fits the show theme and does not have to be your final look or character.

5/1/24: Costumes and Acts Rough Draft Due; Final approval comes from production team; Media campaign launch

6/8/24: Costumes & Acts FINALIZED for first rehearsal
