Circus Productions Committee

Description & Application

Being a part of a circus community is a great way to exercise all of your creative outlets and explore different production elements you may be interested in. The board members of Circus Louisiana and the owners of The Acadian Circus would like to open an opportunity for everyone to help drive the creation and production of our shows and events. For those who are interested in joining the Production Committee, please carefully read the expectations and tasks before filling out the requested information. Selections will be made by the board and owners.

Expectations

Production of our shows and events takes a village, and the more people we have who are interested and willing, the better our shows can be! But, it takes hard work and commitment to make these performances happen. See below for some of the things you can expect for the select shows or performances you are involved with. If you are unable to meet these general expectations for the shows you are involved in, the board/owners are always open to adjusting your contributions to better align with your strengths and availability.

  • Meetings: Creative teams will meet regularly to discuss the progress and plan out tasks and timelines. The closer to, or the larger the event, the more frequent the meetings. Meetings are scheduled by each team based on majority availability.

  • Email/Text/Communication: You will need to be easily reachable and responsive to any and all questions, requests, task updates etc.

  • Task Management: Depending on the role you volunteer for, you may be juggling a few different items at once. Task and time management skills are going to be crucial to ensure success.

  • Availability: We know most of our organization work full time jobs outside of the entertainment industry and we do our best to accommodate everyone’s schedules, but being available for meetings, task completion etc. is expected if you volunteer for a show.
